Automasites
Joelle Palmieri | 22 January 2007

You have a lot of questions related to having a website? It seems too techie? It’s not anymore! It is the purpose of Automasites. Take a look.

Les Automasites Automasites? automats? sites? automatic websites? yes. The automasites are ready-to-go Website loans that free you from all the myths surrounding Internet technologies: What do I need to have a website? Who will help me? will the technician or the webmaster whom I know accept my texts? and photographs? will she/he put them online when I would want? and the language? Gone. The automasites enable you to be detached from questions of hosting, identity (the domain name), and computer development and to be completely autonomous for updating. Created on the basis of free software, and in particular the publication software (Cms) Spip, and hosted with non commercial providers, these sites guarantee you total independence.

Why automasites?

To put communication and information technologies (ICTs) at the service of all non racists, non sexists, and non homophobes, who act collectively in a sharing and reinforcement approach of the social bond in a specific territory; in particular to work with women’s groups using economic alternatives, actresses of the fight against inequalities, women who’ve created their own jobs, , everywhere in the world. To break out of isolation and give these initiatives the visibility they deserve as providers of a strong social appreciation and utopia of another possible world. To facilitate experience sharing, through networking which will be built up progressively.

How to reach automasites?

Find on the Automasites site the possibility of making out your request. While clicking on this link to access the request form, you reach a very simple interface, not asking any technical skill, where you must simply indicate the name of your organization, email of the person contact, possibly your address and a logo, and some information on your activities. You can also choose a model, aspect and structure, that you wish. You receive in return the access codes which enable you to put yourselves at work, i.e. to put on line your texts and images without any additional software nor no knowledge HTML. In the tread, you can immediately communicate the name of your site which will be in the form www.nameofmynorganization.automasites.net.

On request, you can also profit from trainings which will enable you to better apprehend the tool. In addition to the technical part, these trainings include a basic initiation with the writing, what enables you to approach the management and the diffusion of information as well as the virtual exchanges in all peace. They are based on your contents, what guarantees to you to work directly on your own website.

How to take part?

All your suggestions, your experiments, your practices can only enrich this step, based on the mutualisation of the means. Then do not hesitate to transmit your thoughts to us to action@automasites.net. If you are a producer of skeletons of site, of Css, do not hesitate to share them, that will do nothing but widen the field of the possible ones.
