Conference Women Claiming the Information Society (WOCTIS)
Lenka Simerska | 24 August 2005

A one-day conference bringing together feminist media, ICT researchers and gender activists to assess crucial challenges faced by European/North American women in the information society will be held in Berlin in September.

One of the intentions of the event is to explore and describe the gender and ICT issues the economic north imposes on other regions. The conference outcomes will feed into the relevant political processes including upcoming World Summit on the Information Society in Tunis. People interested in gender issues and ICT are welcome to register until 28 August 2005.
