Hivos starts Media, Information and Communication for Development programme
|

We are bringing the news from HIVOS web site. The Media, Information and Communication for Development (MIC) programme will empower citizens in developing countries – especially the poor and marginalized and their organisations – to express their voices and make them heard. The programme will enable access to information and communication resources that can help improve livelihoods and stimulate other development opportunities. |
The programme will also open up and broaden opportunities for a free flow of information, for networking and sharing knowledge, and for creating public and democratic spaces for political debate and participation. Making Civil Voices Heard is the successor of Hivos’ first ICT policy and action programme (2000-2004) called Access-for-All, Equal Opportunities in Cyberspace. In 2004, Hivos initiated an independent evaluation of this programme to identify which successes had been achieved but also which further improvements were desirable. |
